SIDEWALK ADVENTURER Everyone remembers their first bike; the combination of freedom and fun. TOP FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW Our lightweight & durable aluminum Laser frame is easier to pedal than steel. The 20” Laser actually offers two types of brakes: a standard rear coaster brake, which most youngsters are familiar with, and a rear V-brake which many are not. Having the rear coaster brake as a back-up, allows youngsters to get used to hand-braking without going cold-turkey on the coaster brake they are comfortable with. Our alloy rims are anodized black to provide even greater corrosion and rust resistance than the alloy already possesses. Before wheels are laced and trued, the rim sidewalls are ground to provide a smooth braking surface for the rear V-brake. We build the Laser 2.0 wheels with 36 spokes in a 3-cross lacing pattern for a strong & durable wheel. Then mount knobby BMX tires that bite in the dirt, but also feature a rounded profile that rolls smoothly on neighborhood streets & driveways. The 6-speed Shimano shifting offers lots of options for riding up and over hills with big smiles all the way. Capri's extra-plush, broad-based saddle features a suede-like brushed vinyl top that's grippy and keeps young riders from sliding around unsafely on the saddle top. A 60 degree hi-rise stem with 90mm extension and 150mm extra-long quill offers plenty of up or down adjustment range to put those up-swept riser bars in just the right position. Jamis' soft and comfortable foam grips feature a smooth vinyl cover that is embossed and stitched to match the saddle and decal theme. And, the pedals offer a non-slip insert that keeps feet and shoes in full contact, even when wet, for safe and secure pedaling.

The Capri 2.4's swooping frame design has a purpose other than great looks: with 24” wheels this bike offers a low standover and low center of gravity for stable, secure riding and control. Jamis increased the wheelbase length over their 20-inch mountain bike to offer even greater stability, security, and comfort. A seven-speed drivetrain with Shimano's Revoshift twist shifters is easy to learn how to shift and master and is enough gearing to get around the neighborhood comfortably. Just one chainring in front simplifies shifting, too. There's a full-wrap chainguard to keep the chain in place and clothes and legs out of the chain's way, and Jamis pedals offer a non-slip insert that keeps feet and shoes in full contact even when wet for safe and secure pedaling.
