Fast, Made Faster

Welcome to a new era of cycling. E-bikes are here and gaining traction across all segments of the bike industry. Case in point, the performance road e-bike category. In a segment that has traditionally been geared toward the strongest riders, what's the use in adding electric power to their steeds? Because the average rider isn't that fast. Riding in the pro peloton requires more time in training than most privateers can muster, but the SuperSix Evo Neo offers a huge hand-up. Now you can climb with the best and enjoy all the high-speed action that's only found at the pro level.

Press On

Cannondale made things very simple, using just one button on the top tube to activate the electric motor and select the desired level of assistance. The button also displays battery charge through a color-coded LED. Power is delivered through a 250W rear hub motor which is connected to a 250Wh battery hidden in the slightly oversize downtube. Complemented by a distinct lack of external cabling on the Di2 build, it all comes together to create a silhouette that's very easy on the eyes.

The battery and motor aren't especially powerful when compared to e-mountain bikes and other commuter options, but that's not the point. A larger power plant would mean more heft which would take away from the experience of riding unassisted. Performance e-road bikes are distinctly not utilitarian. These bikes are designed to appeal to riders who already have a decent level of cycling fitness, but might struggle in fast groups or on big climbs. In order to retain the sporty characteristics built into the SuperSix EVO Neo's frame, the power plant needs to be unobtrusive. And if you need more range, Cannondale meets the desire by offering a plug-and-play Range Extender Kit that boosts the battery's capacity to 450Wh.

SuperSix EVO's In Here

We're talking about an incredibly lightweight road race bike, electrified. It's aerodynamic. It's ultra-responsive. It's smooth. It encourages you to push harder on steep climbs, and slices through crosswinds across the flats. The frame will easily clear 28mm tires, so you can take your rides on questionable roads with confidence and comfort.

Three builds provide the typical accouterments you'd expect of a performance road bike, with the Di2-equipped SuperSix EVO Neo 1 at the top of the lineup. All frames feature flat mount disc brakes, 12mm Speed Release thru axles, and Cannondale's own tapered carbon fork with varying offsets to maintain optimum steering geometry across the size range. Speaking of sizing, Cannondale is lean on options with just three to choose from—Small, Medium, and Large—which, by the numbers, fall right in the middle of a typical size run.

Final Thoughts

We can get behind this idea of encouraging eager cyclists to ride beyond their abilities. How many times have you fallen back because you didn't have the juice to stay with the pace? Like a welcomed push from behind, the SuperSix EVO Neo is there for you when you want it most, and delivers all the sporty characteristics you're used to the rest of the time.
